Darnell Takes Spring
Charger Championship Victory
Cordell Victorious in Super Renegade

Darnell claimed the victory in the special 25 lap Spring Charger
Championship race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night
April 20, 2007. Andy Garrett led the first eleven laps of the race
before he relinquished the lead to Robin Darnell on lap twelve. Once
out front Darnell pulled away from the field to seal the victory. Andy
Garrett finished second. Tim Sams finished third. Phillip Lynch
finished fourth. Chris Francis finished fifth.

Cordell captured his first victory of the season in the Super Renegade
race. Barry Tollison led the first half of the race with Cordell
making his move on lap eight. Cordell grabbed the lead on the ninth
lap of the race. Once out front Cordell held Tollison and Bryan
Beckner at bay to secure the victory. Barry Tollison finished second.
Bryan Beckner finished third. Whitey Suttles finished fourth. Dale Key
finished fifth.
Austin Northcutt and Trey Gibson put on another show
in the Young Guns race with Northcutt grabbing the victory and Gibson
slamming his car into the front stretch wall. Northcutt led every lap
of the race with Gibson pressuring him throughout the race. On the
final lap Gibson went to make a move to the high side of Northcutt and
Northcutt moved up to block him. Then Gibson dived to the inside and
as he made his move to the inside the two touched and Gibson hit the
wall ten feet from the start finish line. Northcutt crossed the finish
line and received the victory. Austin Aker finished second. Trey
Gibson was scored third since he failed to cross the finish line.
Ben Kay led every lap of the C-Mini
Stock race and claimed his first victory of the season. Tony Barnett
held the second position the first half of the race with Michael York
holding the second position the second half of the race but neither
pressed Kay for the lead position. Michael York finished second. Chad
Black finished third. Jimmy Burgess finished fourth. Rip Lockwood
finished fifth.
Chuck Mitchell led every of the B-M
Modified race and collected the official victory. Tim Smith closed on
Mitchell when the two began working lapped traffic on lap twelve and
made a bid for the lead on laps thirteen and fourteen but came up
short when Mitchell thwarted his advance on the final lap of the race.
Tim Smith finished second. Alan Mitchell finished third. Robbie
Burgess finished fourth. Matt Green finished fifth.
Wesley Thompson led every lap of the
600 Legends race and claimed the overall victory and the victory in
the Pro portion of the race. Kay Abbott closed on Thompson on laps six
and thirteen but failed to make a serious bid for the lead position.
Kory Abbott finished second. Justin Ashley finished third and claimed
the victory in the Semi-Pro portion of the race. Jerry Rector finished
fourth and claimed the victory in the Masters portion of the race.
Scott griffin finished fifth.
Eric Sargent claimed the victory in
the B-Mini Stock race. Chad Campbell led the first five laps of the
race with Sargent making his move on lap five. The two battled laps
five and six with Sargent taking the lead at the end of lap six. Once
out front Sargent led the remainder of the race and took the checkered
flag. Scott Hamby finished second. Chad Campbell finished third. Wayne
Hammond finished fourth. Henry Vaughn finished fifth.
Greg Darnell led every lap of the
Renegade race and claimed the official victory. Darnell was never
challenged for the lead during the race. Chad Watt finished second.
Mark Sullivan finished third. Justin Cone finished fourth. Brian
Powell Jr. finished fifth.
