David Darnell Takes B-Mini Stock
By Tony
M. Suttles
Barry
Tollison led every lap of the Super Renegade race ran at the Anderson
Motor Speedway on Friday night May 25, 2007. The victory was the sixth
of the season for Tollison. Tyrone Anglin held the second position
throughout the race but failed to maintain the pace set by Tollison so
therefore he never challenged Tollison for the lead position. Tyrone
Anglin finished second. Dale Key finished third. Zac Lane finished
fourth.
David
Darnell led every lap of the B-Mini Stock race and claimed the
official victory. The victory was the fourth of the season for Darnell
and his third victory in the last four races. Mark Timmerman pressured
Darnell the first half of the race and made a couple of attempts to
gain the racing groove away from Darnell but Darnell held Timmerman at
bay each time Timmerman made an advance. Mark Timmerman finished
second. Scott Hamby finished third. Chad Campbell finished fourth.
Wayne Smith finished fifth.
Trey Gibson led every
lap of the Young Guns race and claimed the official victory. The
victory was the third in a row and fourth victory of the season for
Gibson. Austin Northcutt ran with Gibson the first few laps of the
race but soon dropped off the pace set by Gibson. Austin Northcutt
finished second. Austin Aker finished third.
Zack Dillon led every
lap of the C-Mini Stock race as he claimed the official victory. The
victory was the second of the season for Dillon. Brandon Hendrix
closed on Dillon the final lap of the race and made a bid for the lead
on the final lap but fell short. Brandon Hendrix finished second. Chad
Stewart finished third. Chad Black finished fourth. Ben Kay finished
fifth. Although there was not much of a battle for the lead in the
race until the final lap there was tons of excitement going on behind
the leader in the C-Mini Stock race as the top eight repeatedly
swapped positions with drivers moving back and forth from position to
position.
Matt Meyers claimed the
victory in the B-M Modified race. Meyers narrowly led the first two
laps of the race before he relinquished the lead to Chuck Mitchell.
Meyers followed Mitchell the next four laps and made his move on lap
eight and bypassed Mitchell to regain the lead that he refused to
relinquish a second time. Meyers led the final half of the race to
secure the victory. Chuck Mitchell finished second. Shawn Mize
finished third. Matt Greene finished fourth. Frank Williams finished
fifth.
Rob Hall claimed the
overall victory and the victory in the Pro portion of the 600 Legends
race. John Gallman led the first three laps of the race before Hall
grabbed the lead away from him. On the same lap Justin Ashley moved to
second. From laps three to fifteen Ashley continually pressured Hall
but failed to over take him. On lap seventeen Ashley finally bypassed
Hall and led the race when the two crossed the start finish line. But
on the following lap Hall dove under Ashley in turn two and regained
the lead. Ashley made a last lap bid for the lead but Hall held him
off to secure the overall victory. Justin Ashley finished second and
claimed the victory in the Semi-Pro portion of the race. Wesley
Thompson finished third. Jerry Rector finished fourth and took the
victory in the Masters portion of the race. Randy Dilling finished
fifth.
Terry “Bubba” Thurston
claimed the victory in the Renegade race. The victory was the first
official victory of the season for Thurston. Chad Watt led the first
three laps of the race before Thurston bypassed him for the lead. Once
out front Thurston pulled away and led the remaining laps of the race.
Chad Watt finished second. Justin Cone finished third. Jim Skinner
finished fourth. Brian Powell Jr. finished fifth.
