Thrasher Takes Season First B-Mini
Stock Victory, Dillard Victorious In ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade Race

Thrasher claimed the official victory in the B-Mini Stock race ran at
the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night May 30, 2008. Scott Hamby
led the first four laps of the race with BJ Thrasher gaining on him
each of those laps. On lap five Thrasher took over the lead position
and held it the remainder of the race and picked up his first victory
of the season. Mark Timmerman moved to the second position on lap
seven and closed on Thrasher the final lap and pressed him for the
lead but Thrasher held him at bay to secure the victory. Mark
Timmerman finished second. Scott Hamby finished third. Chad Campbell
finished fourth. Ben Kay finished fifth.
Ken
Dillard claimed the official victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’
Renegade race. Shawn Campbell grabbed the lead as soon as the green
flag dropped on the race. Ken Dillard moved to second on lap two. It
took Dillard ten laps to close on Campbell but once he got close
enough he didn’t waste any time. Dillard dove under Campbell in turn
one on lap twelve and pulled to the front as the two headed down the
backstretch. Once out front Dillard pulled to a car length advantage
and held it till the end of the race. Shawn Campbell finished second.
Chris Whitfield finished third. Bryan Beckner finished fourth. Jim
Reynolds finished fifth.
Wesley Thompson claimed the overall victory and the
victory in the Pro portion of the 600 Legends race. Two different
drivers held the lead position during the race with a third driver
making it a three car free for all before the 600 Legends race came to
an end. John Gallman grabbed the lead as soon as the green flag
dropped on the race and held the lead the first five laps before he
relinquished the lead to Wesley Thompson. Although Thompson led the
next fifteen laps and eventually received the checkered flag he had
his hands full each of those laps. Gallman pressed Thompson repeatedly
until lap eighteen when Andrew Brown passed him for the second
position. Brown pressed Thompson on lap nineteen and on the final lap
Gallman rejoined the fray and on the final lap it was anyone’s race
but in the end Thompson held off the stiff competition to take the
victory. Andrew Brown finished second and claimed the victory in the
Semi Pro portion of the race. John Gallman finished third. Jerry
Rector finished fourth and claimed the victory in the Masters portion
of the race. Randy Gunton finished fifth.
Sam Roberts claimed the official victory in the Super
Renegade race. Roberts led every lap of the race on his way to the
victory. Zack Lane ran with Roberts the first half of the race but
dropped off his pace soon thereafter. Zack Lane finished second. Eddie
Henderson finished third. Earl Young finished fourth. Mike Thompson
finished fifth.
Jock White claimed the official victory in the B-M
modified race. White led the first three laps of the race with Corey
Gibson all over him. On the fourth lap Gibson bypassed White and took
over the lead. Gibson held the lead the next five laps with White
pressing him each lap. Then on lap nine White retook the lead away
from Gibson. This time White pulled to a car length advantage and held
it till the checkered flag dropped. Corey Gibson finished second. Matt
Meyer finished third. Chad Parries finished fourth. Chuck Mitchell
finished fifth.
Chad Black claimed the official victory in the C-Mini
Stock race. Chad Black led every lap of the race on his way to the
victory. Brandon Hendrix ran with black throughout the race but failed
to press him for the top spot. Brandon Hendrix finished second. Jack
Kelley finished third. Kayla Pritchett finished fourth. Austin
Northcutt finished fifth.
Avery Burgess claimed the official Young Guns victory.
The Young Gun drivers and the C-Mini Stock drivers competed together
and Burgess finished fourth overall and claimed the Young Guns
victory. Burgess held the fourth position throughout the race. Austin
Aker finished second. RJ West finished third.
