Timmerman held on to take the official victory in the B-Mini Stock
feature race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night July
20, 2007. Only five cars started in the B-Mini Stock race but three of
those cars were determined to take the victory with each leading
during the race and the winner not determined until the last turn of
the last lap of the race. Chad Campbell led the first half of the race
with David Darnell and Mark Timmerman breathing down his neck in each
corner of the speedway. At the end of the tenth lap Darnell made
contact with Campbell and Campbell almost spun coming out of turn four
but Campbell retained control of the car and the lead as the two
crossed the finish line. But on the next lap Darnell grabbed the lead
away from Campbell with Timmerman taking the second position. For the
next five laps Timmerman banged on Darnell’s bumper but was unable to
get under him. Then on lap eighteen Timmerman got under Darnell and
took the lead at the end of the lap. On the nineteenth lap Darnell
made a move to regain the lead and the two were almost side by side
when the white flag came out. As the two battled down the backstretch
on the final lap there was contact and as they struggled to get
control of their respective cars Chad Campbell made a run on the high
side of both Timmerman and Darnell. Initially it appeared that
Campbell may have enough speed to take the lead but Timmerman regained
control of his car and was able to win the drag race to the finish
line. Chad Campbell finished second. David Darnell finished third.
Joey Harris finished fourth. Trace Embry finished fifth.
Zack
Dillon claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock race. Dillon
and Ben Kay battled side by side the first five laps of the race with
Dillon leading the first and second lap by a narrow margin and Kay
leading the third and fourth lap by a narrow margin. At the end of the
fifth lap Dillon grabbed the lead position for the second time. Wile
Kay and Dillon battled for the C-Mini Stock lead Austin Aker and
Austin Northcutt battled for the Young Guns lead with Aker moving to
the third overall position on lap three. The top four battled bumper
to bumper till lap eight when a caution appeared. Following the
restart Aker and Kay touched heading out of turn two and both spun and
were placed in the rear of the field. Dillon led the remainder of the
race and held off the late charge issued by Northcutt to seal the
victory. The victory was the third of the season for Dillon. Michael
York finished second in the C-Mini Stock class of drivers. Jimmy
Burgess finished third. Brandon Hendrix finished fourth. Jack Kelley
finished fifth.
Austin Northcutt claimed the official
victory in the Young Guns division. For the second week in a row the
Young Guns drivers competed with the C-Mini Stock drivers in the same
race and for the second week in a row the Young Guns drivers proved
they are a force to be reckoned with. Northcutt took over the Young
Guns lead on lap eight after Austin Aker and Ben Kay spun in turn two.
The victory was the fourth of the season for Northcutt. Austin Aker
finished second in the Young Guns class of drivers. Dylan Wages
finished third.
Bryan Beckner claimed the official
victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade race. Beckner became the
ninth different winner in the Renegade division. Eighteen cars started
the race and there were a lot of two wide and three wide passes by
driving trying to move up through the field. Mark Sullivan held the
lead the first five laps of the race before he was bypassed by Beckner.
Beckner pressured Sullivan each of the first five laps before he took
the lead. Once out front Beckner pulled away for the victory. Justin
Cone finished second. Shawn Campbell finished third. Anthony Cordell
finished fourth. Mark Sullivan finished fifth.
John Stancill claimed the overall
victory and the victory in the Semi Pro portion of the 600 Legends
race. Wesley Thompson held the lead position the first eleven laps of
the race before he was bypassed by Stancill. Once out front Stancill
pulled to a five car length advantage that he held until the end of
the race. Wesley Thompson finished second and claimed the victory in
the Pro portion of the race. RS Senter finished third. Nick Pistone
finished fourth. John Gallman finished fifth. Jerry Rector finished
sixth and claimed the victory in the Masters portion of the race.
Will Ragsdale claimed the official
victory in the B-M Modified race. Ragsdale, Chuck Mitchell and Matt
Meyer battled on the first lap of the race until there was contact
between the three that sent Mitchell into the outside wall and Meyer
into the inside wall. The incident occurred on the first lap of the
race and Mitchell and Meyer were relegated to a restart on the rear.
Ragsdale restarted on the pole. Ragsdale grabbed a big advantage while
Mitchell and Meyer worked their way back to the front. Mitchell took
the second position on the fifth lap and began to cut into Ragsdale’s
advantage but the distance was too great to overcome as the cars raced
the fifteen laps caution free. Chuck Mitchell finished second. Matt
Meyer finished third. Shawn Mize finished fourth. RJ Flanagan finished
fifth.
