Race Victories
Cone Victorious In ‘Talking Phonebook’
Renegade Race

Arden,
North Carolina driver John Stancill claimed the victory in the 600
Legends Semi Pro Regional Qualifier race ran at the Anderson Motor
Speedway on Friday night August 10, 2007. Stancill had made numerous
appearances to the Anderson Motor Speedway and has claimed a couple of
wins prior to this victory. Jordan Anderson from
Columbia
made his first appearance to the speedway this season and claimed the
victory in the 600 Legends Pro Regional Qualifier race. The Semi Pro
drivers competed in a separate race while the Pro and Master drivers
competed together. Veteran and regular Master driver Jerry Rector
finished six and claimed the victory in the 600 Legends Master
portion
of the Regional Qualifier race. Finishing second in the Semi Pro race
was Justin Morton. John Gallman finished third. Tyler Kivett finished
fourth. Andrew Brown finished fifth. Finishing second in the Pro race
was Kory Abbott. Wesley Thompson finished third. Andrew Smith finished
fourth. Ryan Bird finished fifth.
Justin
Cone claimed the official victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade
race. Terry Thurston led the first ten laps of the race with Justin
Cone following him almost every lap. Then on lap ten Cone made his
move and grabbed the lead away from Thurston on lap eleven. Cone led
the remainder of the laps and claimed the victory. Terry “Bubba”
Thurston finished second. Shawn Campbell finished third. Jim Reynolds
finished fourth. Mike Childers finished fifth.
Trey Gibson claimed the
official victory in the C-Mini Stock race. Gibson led every lap of the
race on his way to his second victory in the C-Mini Stock division and
his second victory in his last two starts in the division. Brandon
Hendrix finished second. Chad Black finished third. Zack Dillon
finished fourth. Jimmy Burgess finished fifth.
Austin Aker was the
best finishing Young Guns driver that competed with the C-Mini Stock
division and he claimed the official victory in the Young Guns race.
Dylan Wages finished second. Austin Northcutt finished third.
Mark Timmerman claimed
the official victory in the B-Mini Stock race. David Darnell led the
majority of the race while Timmerman remained glued to his rear deck
lid during most of those laps. Then with two laps to go Timmerman made
his move and on the final lap he bypassed David Darnell and led the
final half of the race and claimed the victory. David Darnell finished
second. Chad Campbell finished third. Scott Hamby finished fourth.
Wayne Hammond finished fifth.
