Thompson Grabs 600 Legends
Victory, Beckner Victorious In ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade race

Thompson claimed the official victory in the 600 Legends race ran at
the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night August 15, 2008.
Thompson claimed the overall victory and the victory in the Pro
portion of the race while driving the car normally driven by Randy
Dilling. Four different drivers led the race before a victor was
finally determined. Austin Hill led the first two laps of the race
before he relinquished the position to Andrew Brown. Brown held the
lead until lap six when he was bypassed by Austin Leitner. Leitner
held the lead until lap nine when Brown bypassed him to regain the
top spot. Wesley Thompson made his move on the nineteenth lap and
over took Brown on the final lap in order to take the victory.
Andrew Brown finished second and claimed the victory in the Semi Pro
portion of the race. Austin Hill finished third. Jerry Rector
finished fourth and claimed the victory in the Masters portion of
the race. Brian Weimer finished fifth.
Bryan
Beckner claimed the official victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’
Renegade race. Shawn Campbell led every lap of the race and received
the checkered flag but following the race he was protested by
Beckner. Campbell refused to accept the protest and the victory was
awarded to Bryan Beckner. During the race Beckner was able to hang
with Campbell for a couple of laps each time the race was restarted
but the longer the race was under green flag conditions the further
Campbell was able to pull away. Chris Whitfield crossed the finish
line in the third position but he failed post race inspection thus
Chad Watt finished second. Jim Reynolds finished third. Jim Skinner
finished fourth. Al Stokes finished fifth.
Mark Timmerman claimed the official victory in the
B-Mini Stock race. BJ Thrasher led every lap of the race and easily
out distanced the remainder of the field and received the checkered
flag but following the race Thrasher failed the post race
inspection.. Chad Campbell held the second position the first four
laps of the race before he was bypassed by Mark Timmerman. Timmerman
held the second position till the end of the race and was awarded
the victory when Thrasher failed post race inspection. Chad Campbell
finished second. Scott Hamby finished third. Jeff Bruce finished
fourth. Ben Kay finished fifth.
Austin Northcutt claimed the official victory in the
C-Mini Stock race. Northcutt led every lap of the race and was never
seriously challenged for the lead position. Several different
drivers held the second position but none of them pressed Northcutt.
Jack Kelly finished second. Brandon Hendrix was third. Chad Black
finished fourth. Chad Stewart finished fifth.
Avery Burgess claimed the Young Guns victory. The
Young Guns ran with the C-Mini Stock division and Burgess finished
sixth overall. RJ West finished second amongst the Young Guns
drivers. Austin Aker finished third amongst the Young Guns drivers.
Matt Meyer claimed the official victory in the B-M
Modified race. Meyer grabbed the lead at the end of the first lap
but Trey Gibson refused to be left behind. Gibson remained glued to
the rear bumper of Meyer for the next five laps and then he made his
move at the end of lap six. Gibson took over the lead on lap seven
but his time at the front was short lived. On lap eight Meyer
repassed Gibson to retake the top position. This time Meyer was able
to pull to a car length advantage and hold it the remainder of the
race. Trey Gibson finished second. Chuck Mitchell finished third.
Casey Tucker finished fourth. Mitch Chastine finished fifth.
Zac Lane claimed the official victory in the Super
Renegade race. Lane led every lap of the race and was never
pressured during the race. Jimmy Brown finished second. Sam Roberts
finished third. Earl Young finished fourth.
