Victorious In
‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade Race
Kay Picks Up Victory In C-Mini Stock

Shawn Campbell claimed
the official victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade race ran at
the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night September 21, 2007.
Campbell led every lap on his way to the victory. Ken Dillard took
over the second position early in the race and closed on Campbell but
failed to press him for the top spot. Ken Dillard finished second. Jim
Reynolds finished third. Jamie McAllister finished fourth. Bryan
Beckner finished fifth.
Ben Kay claimed the
official victory in the C-Mini Stock race. Kay and Michael York
battled the first couple of laps of the race with York nailing down
the lead spot on the third lap. York held the lead until the middle
point of the race when he dropped off the pace and Brandon Hendrix
assumed the lead position. Hendrix led the remainder of the race and
received the checkered flag with Kay finishing in the second position.
Following the race Kay lodged a protest upon Hendrix’s car and Hendrix
refused to pull down. Ben Kay was awarded the official victory. Chad
Stewart finished second. Jack Kelley finished third. Chad Black
finished fourth. Tony Barnette finished fifth.
David Darnell claimed
the official victory in the B-Mini Stock race. Chad Campbell held the
lead position the first half of the race before he relinquished the
lead to Darnell on lap ten. Once out front Darnell led the final ten
laps to take the victory. Mark Timmerman bypassed Campbell near the
end of the race in order to finish second. Chad Campbell finished
third. Eric Sargent finished fourth. Trey Gibson finished fifth.
Alan Mitchell claimed
the official victory in the B-M Modified race. Chuck Mitchell led the
first few laps of the race while Matt Meyer worked his way to the
second position. Once in the second position Meyer immediately went
after the leader. By the half way point of the race the two were side
by side. During the second half of the race Mitchell and Meyer
repeatedly ran side by side with each sharing the lead on various
laps. In the final turn of the final lap the two made contact and spun
allowing Alan Mitchell to bypass them and take the victory. Matt
Johnston finished second. Randy Flanagan finished third. Frank
Williams finished fourth. Chuck Mitchell finished fifth.
John Stancill claimed
the official victory in the 600 Legends race. Justin Ashley held the
lead position the first seventeen laps of the race until he was
bypassed by Stancill. Stancill led the final three laps of the race
and received the checkered flag. Stancill claimed the overall victory
and the victory in the Semi Pro Class. Justin Ashley finished second.
Wesley Thompson finished third and claimed the victory in the Pro
Class. John Gallman finished fourth. Jerry Rector finished fifth and
claimed the victory in the Masters Class.
Austin Aker of Easley captured the win
in the Young Guns division. In Victory Lane he dedicated the win to
his Papa who couldn’t attend because he was preparing for open heart
surgery.
