Shrine Race Victory
Burgess Victorious In C-Mini Stock Race

Darnell claimed the official victory in the 8th Annual Reese Fant Jr.
Memorial Shrine race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday
night September 28, 2007. Darnell took the lead away from Scott Hamby
early in the race and never looked back on his way to the victory.
Mark Timmerman finished second. Mark Burdette finished third. Scott
Hamby finished fourth. Chad Campbell finished fifth.
Jimmy
Burgess claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock race. Burgess
was pressed by Young Gun driver Austin Aker the first couple of laps
of the race but Burgess was able to pull away soon thereafter. Michael
York bypassed Aker a few laps later but failed to challenge Burgess
for the top spot. Michael York finished second. Chad Stewart also
bypassed Aker before the race ended and finished third. Brandon
Hendrix finished fourth among C-Mini Stock drivers. Jack Kelley
finished fifth.
Austin Aker claimed the official victory
in the Young Guns race. The Young Guns drivers competed with the
C-Mini drivers as there was only two Young Guns drivers present. Aker
pressed Burgess early in the race before dropping back during the race
and crossing the finish line in the fourth position. As the top Young
Guns driver he took the victory. Austin Northcutt finished second.
Matt Meyer claimed the official victory
in the B-M Modified race. Chuck Mitchell led every lap of the race
except the most important one. For the first half of the race Mitchell
was pressed by Shawn Mize while Matt Meyer waited patiently in the
third position. Soon after the half way mark in the race Meyer moved
to the second position. For the next few laps Meyer chased the down
Chuck Mitchell and bypassed him on the final lap to take the victory.
Chuck Mitchell finished second. Shawn Mize finished third. Matt Green
finished fourth. Alan Mitchell finished fifth.
Shawn Campbell claimed the official
victory in the ‘Talking Phonebook’ Renegade race. Campbell led every
lap of the special thirty lap race on his way to the victory. Several
drivers held the second position during the race but none were able to
take the lead away from Campbell. Ken Dillard finished second. Jim
Reynolds finished third. Justin Cone finished fourth. Jim Skinner
finished fifth.
Justin Ashley claimed the official
victory in the 600 Legends race. Ashley led every lap on his way to
the overall victory and victory in the Semi Pro portion of the race.
John Gallman finished second. Randy Gunton finished third. Jody
Yarborough finished fourth. Ted Studley finished fifth and claimed the
victory in the Pro portion of the race. There was no Master class
winner since there was no Master drivers present.
