Jeffrey Thompson claimed the official victory in the $500 to win B-Mini Stock Spring Fling Championship race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night April 23, 2010. Thompson made his auto racing debut and picked up his first career victory in the same night. BJ Thrasher was the fast qualifier with a time of 17.45 seconds. A dice was rolled to determine the starting order and a one was rolled which allowed the race to be lined up in the order that the drivers qualified. Thrasher grabbed the lead at the start of the race and appeared to have the field covered until a caution appeared on lap two. On the restart Mark Timmerman grabbed the advantage but by the end of the lap Thrasher was side by side with him. Before Thrasher could over take Timmerman another caution appeared. Timmerman got another good jump on the restart and moved to the lead. But Thrasher closed on Timmerman and regained the lead on lap seven. Timmerman ran with Thrasher until lap thirteen when he lost the second position to Chad Campbell. The top three ran nose to tail until lap eighteen. A lapped car spun in front of the leaders and a couple of the top five got gathered up in the mishap. Mark Timmerman had to stop to avoid the car which put him at the rear of the field on the restart. Ben Kay whom was running fifth clipped the spun out car and was removed from the race. Kay was selected as the winner of the $200 bad luck award. Campbell and Thrasher ran side by side for the next lap and on lap twenty one the two got tangled up and both hit the turn one wall. Brad Burdette took over the lead and held it the remainder of the race and took the checkered flag. Mark Timmerman moved to second on lap twenty nine and crossed the finish line second. Jeffrey Thompson crossed the finish line third. Following the race Burdette and Timmerman failed the post race inspection and the official victory was awarded to Thompson. Wayne Hammond finished second. David Darnell finished third. Robbie Adams finished fourth. Spanky Hicks finished fifth.
Barry Tollison Jr. claimed the official victory in the Racers Edge/Vickery Speed Shop Super Renegades division. Tollison Jr led every lap of the race and picked up his first victory of the season. Barry Tollison finished second. Eddie Henderson finished third. Earl Young finished fourth. Greg Darnell finished fifth.
Jody Trivette claimed the official victory in the “Talking Phonebook” Renegades division. Chris Whitfield led the first thirteen laps of the race with Jim Reynolds and Jody Trivette running nose to tail behind him. On lap thirteen Reynolds made his move and drove past Whitfield. On lap fifteen after the white flag had dropped the top three drove into turn one. There was contact between the front runners and Reynolds and Whitfield spun. Trivette drove through the incident and took the checkered flag and red flag which signalled the end of the race. Jamie McCall finished second. Jim Reynolds finished third. Chris Whitfield finished fourth. Casey Birkett finished fifth.
Alan Mitchell claimed the official victory in the B-M Modified division. Mitchell led every lap of the race as he picked up his first victory of the season. Mitchell pulled to a decent advantage at the start of the race. By lap eight Will Ragsdale and Matt Meyers had ran him down. The three remained close the remainder of the race with Meyers moving to second on the final lap. Matt Meyers finished second. Will Ragsdale finished third. Casey Tucker finished fourth. Andy Nance finished fifth.
Austin Aker claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock division. Aker and Jack Kelly battled side by side on the first lap with Aker having the advantage at the end of the lap. On lap two there was contact involving the front cars which allowed Johnny Suttles to take the lead but before the lap was complete Avery Burgess passed Suttles and had the lead at the end of lap two. On lap three Suttles got crossed up and a couple of cars spun which gathered Jack Kelly and removed him from the race. Once the race restarted Aker moved past Burgess to take over the lead spot once again. This time Aker began to pull away from the field lap after lap and went on to win by about ten car lengths. Avery Burgess finished second. Matt Johnson finished third. Jordan Skinner finished fourth. Brandon Segars finished fifth.
Austin Leitner claimed the official victory in the Legends division. Leitner led every lap of the race and was never challenged for the top spot. The victory was the first of the season for Leitner. Randy Gunton held the second position throughout the race but failed to press Leitner for the lead. Randy Gunton finished second. Cory Parham finished third. Brandon Simpson finished fourth. Taylor Griffith finished fifth.
