Tollisons Continue To Dominate Racers’ Edge Super Renegade Division, Campbell Makes It Two In A Row In Talking Phonebook Renegade Division
Barry Tollison Jr  claimed the official victory in the Racers Edge/Vickery Speed Shop Super Renegade race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night  May 7, 2010.  The victory was the second of the season for Tollison Jr and the fifth of the season for the Tollison clan.  For the third week in a row the Tollisons faced the technical downfall of sweeping all the races as once again the track extensively checked the car to make sure that the car did not have an unfair advantage over the rest of the field.  Tollison Jr led every lap of the race and held about a two car length advantage over his dad Barry Tollison throughout the race.  Barry Tollison Sr finished second and held about a two car length advantage over Whitey Suttles throughout the race.  Whitey Suttles finished third.   For the first time this season Suttles was able to complete an entire race.  Suttles believes that with a few more improvements to his car that he will be able to dethrone the Tollisons.        
 
Shawn Campbell claimed the official victory in the “Talking Phonebook” Renegades division.  The victory was the second in a row for Campbell.  Ricky Burnett led the first seven laps of the race with Campbell beating off his rear bumper almost every lap.  During laps eight through ten Burnett and Campbell ran side by side.  On lap eleven Campbell took the lead and never looked back.  Ricky Burnett finished second.  Jim Reynolds finished third.  Jackie Holden finished fourth.  Jamie McCall finished fifth.
 
Matt Meyers claimed the official victory in the B-M Modified division.  The victory was the second in a row and third of the season for Meyers.  Will Ragsdale led the first five laps of the race with Meyers nose to tail with him during the early juncture of the race.  A caution dropped at the end of the fifth lap and the cars double file restarted with Meyers on the high side of Ragsdale.  For the next nine laps the two battled side by side.  At the end of the fourteenth lap Meyers dove under Ragdale and took over the inside line and the lead.  Meyers led the final lap and took the victory.  Will Ragsdale finished second.  Steve Parris finished third.  Andy Nance finished fourth.  Skyler Queen finished fifth.  
 
Jack  Kelly claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock division. The victory was the second in a row and third of the season for Kelley.  Russell Powell led the first three laps of the race before he was overtaken by Kelley.  Austin Northcutt finished second.  Kyre Mullaney finished third.  Avery Burgess finished fourth.  Russell Powell got hung out on the high side following a restart and finished  fifth.
 
BJ Thrasher claimed the official victory in the B-Mini Stock division.  The victory was the first of the season for Thrasher and made Thrasher the fourth different winner through the first five races ran this year.  Ben Kay led the first three laps of the race before he was over taken by Thrasher.  Once out front Thrasher pulled away for the victory.  Chad Campbell finished second.  Mark Timmerman finished third.  Ben Kay finished fourth.  David Darnell finished fifth.
 
Steven Ross from Stanfield, NC claimed the official victory in the 600 Legends Pro/Masters Regional Qualifier race .  Steven Cantrell from Concord, NC finished second.  Andrew Brown from Greenville, SC finished third.  Kyle Platt finished fourth.  Taylor Hull finished fifth.  Brandon Simpson finished sixth.  The first six drivers to cross the finish line were Pro drivers.  Randy Gunton from Piedmont, SC  finished seventh overall and took the victory in the Masters portion of the race.  Ross led every lap of the race on his way to the victory.     
 
Joey Mattis from Mooresville, NC claimed the official victory in the 600 Legends Semi Pro/Young Lions Regional Qualifier race.  Mattis is a Semi Pro driver and took the victory in that portion of the race.  Josh Morris from Fredericksburg, Va finished second.  Morris is a Young Lions driver and took the victory in that portion of the race.  CJ Hulsley, another Young Lions driver, from El Paso, Tx  finished third.  Rex Brown, a Semi Pro driver finished fourth.  Justin Thomas, a Young Lions driver, finished fifth.  Corey Parham and Austin Leitner battled the first five laps of the race before the two made contact and wound up in the inside wall.  RS Senter took over the lead and led the remainder of the race and took the checkered flag but failed to pass post race inspection.  During the race there was also a three car pileup where one car almost flipped and the other two hitting the inside wall.  Kevin Eskew was one of the drivers that hit the wall and he had to be taken to the emergency room for assistance.  Our best wishes are sent to Eskew for a speedy recovery.
