CHILLER THRILLER 75 - 75 LAP LMS & SIX DIVISIONS HIGHLIGHTS OPENER

Anderson Motor Speedway will kick off the 49^th season in operation with a triple header of special events at the 3/8 mile asphalt oval.  The Season Opener on Friday, March 16^th will feature the return of the highly competitive Late Model Stock division for an all-out dash in the CHILLER THRILLER 75 – 75 laps $1,500 to win.  Following the THRILLER on the 16^th will be the first appearance of the CARS Pro Cup Series, formerly the Hooters Pro Cup Series, on Saturday, March 24^th for 250 laps complete with green flag pit stops.  Three weeks into the season, on Friday, March 30^th will be the Southeast Super Truck Series Premiere featuring truck drivers from across the Carolinas and Tennessee.   

Anderson Motor Speedway will once again host weekly racing in on Friday evenings in 2012 featuring competition in the Late Model Stock division on a rotating (twice per month) basis, as well as, weekly competition in the Mini Stocks, Renegades, Super Renegades, BM Modifieds and Front Wheel Drive classes.  Several special events are planned for the upcoming season including the return of the PASS South Series for a Tuesday, July 3^rd FIRECRACKER 150 event complete with a fireworks extravaganza ; the UARA Stars Late Model Stock Series will return for two appearances on Friday, June 1^st and Saturday, October 6^th; the CRASH A RAMA – A Night of Destruction will return on Saturday, May 12^th; the 3^rd Annual Rupert Porter Memorial Shrine Race will return on Friday, September 7^th. 

The goal of management at Anderson Motor Speedway is to promote a fun, family-friendly environment for those who love short track racing.  The AMS Junior Fan CLub (JFC) offers our youngest race fans (those 12 and under) the opportunity to take place in many fun, racing related activities.  Area merchants, competitors and sponsors have teamed up to help AMS staffers make these events rewarding for JFC members.  Throughout the 2012 season AMS will offer special events for members including free face-painting, activity of the week, monthly birthday celebrations and many special events including bicycle races, candy avalanches and visits by area mascots/restaurant characters. 

The grandstand admission for AMS weekly events is $10 for adults; free for those 12 and under.  AMS offers tiered trackside parking – 40 spots nestled in turn one where you can see the entire track and tailgate with friends.  The cost of trackside parking for the 2012 season is $10 per car (or truck) and $10 per person (12 and under are admitted free).
