FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE:  120+ MILE PER HOUR USCS OUTLAW THUNDER WINGED SPRINT CARS TO ASSAULT ANDERSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY PAVEMENT ON FRIDAY, APRIL 25TH

Atlanta, GA April 18, 2014 - The United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters is bring its 120+ mile per hour ground pounding winged sprint cars to the 3/8 mile high banks of  the historic Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday, April 25th . It will be the first event for the series at AMS since 2010 when the USCS made its second trip to the Williamston, South Carolina  oval located near Anderson, South Carolina.  The event is Round #1 of the USCS “Road to Atlanta” six-race pavement mini-series and the first of six qualifying races for the USCS Sprint Car Shootout at Atlanta Motor Speedway during their Labor day weekend NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide events. The event is the sixth race of the for United Sprint Car series presented by K&N Filters 18th anniversary 2014 Outlaw Thunder Tour. The series has fifty one nights of competition schedule during the 2014 season. Forty-four of those races are on dirt ovals and the special seven-race USCS ”Road to Atlanta” mini-series is set to be contested on paved ovals in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Fans can expect to see an exotic mixture of winged Outlaw style sprint cars designed and utilized for dirt track racing in a battle with cars designed primarily for paved track racing. The USCS rules for pavement events make both types of cars capable of being equally competitive. Driver pre-entries are expected from some of the Nation’s top drivers from at least seven states as far away as Arkansas, Florida and Ohio.

The United Sprint Car Series is the only winged sprint car series in the World that contests it’s Championship on both dirt and paved ovals. At 1,300 pounds and over 700 horsepower, the winged sprint cars are pound for pound the World’s fastest and most powerful short-track cars. Fans should expect to see the USCS sprint cars scream around the historic 3/8 mile distance around AMS at approximately one half to two seconds quicker than any other cars that race at AMS. The USCS winged sprint cars are expected to reach speeds of approximately one hundred and thirty miles per hour (120 M.P.H.) around the 3/8 mile oval.

United Sprint Car Series founder and President, Pete Walton said,”We are totally excited about the opportunity for our drivers and race teams to return to Anderson Motor Speedway and showcase their talents in front of all the great fans at the historic facility built and owned by the Porter family. Those AMS race fans who have  missed the United Sprint Car Series’ previous events at Anderson and the ones who have never seen this type of racing are in store for an exciting evening on Friday, April 25th” concluded Walton
