AMS PREPARES FOR 50TH ANNIVERSARY / SEASON OPENER ON FRIDAY, MARCH 29TH
The 2013 SEASON OPENER has been set for Friday, March 29th featuring Late Model Stocks, Mini Stocks, Renegades, BM Modifieds, US Legends and Front Wheel Drives. Late Model Stock drivers will play BASEBALL BONANZA with the race fans. One lucky race fan will win $100 cool cash. The Season Opener is an AMS points race. There will be an EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA and two (one male, one female) lucky Jr. Fan Club members will win an Easter Basket with lots of goodies. Local band, Barbed Wire will perform a pre-race concert for the fans prior to racing. The EASTER BUNNY will visit with the kids. Gates open at 5PM. Racing begins at 8PM. Grandstand adult admission is $10. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Trackside parking is $10 per car/truck and $10 per adult. Concessions are available. Coolers are allowed in the Grandstands no larger 15 inch. No Glass Bottles are allowed on the premises. ATTENTION: RENEGADES DRIVERS: Let's get the season started off with a BANG!!! LMS Driver, #17 Greg Bohanon, Jr. posted $300 BONUS MONEY in the Season Opening event to the Renegades division. This means that the winner will receive $400. Second place will pay $250. Drivers will qualify (1 lap) for starting position. Thanks to the Bohanons for CONTINUING to support local short track racing!!!
Schedule of Events 2013 Season Opener Friday, March 29, 2013 NOTE: RACECEIVERS ARE MANDATORY!!! AMS LICENSES ARE MANDATORY!!! Pit Gate opens at 4PM for competitors. Grandstand Gate opens 5PM. Special Thanks to BARBED WIRE!!! Parking: Pit Road Parking for Late Model Stocks. Reserved Spots are only for those who have purchased them. Open Practice 6:15pm 7:15pm (Drawing Closes promptly at 7:15PM/Drivers who haven’t drawn will be forced to start in the rear/qualify first) Drivers Meeting 7:25pm (15 min max) Drivers Meeting HAS MOVED to Grandstands! One representative from each team is a MUST!!! LMS teams should begin lining up cars along pit road during Driver’s Meeting. LMS Qualifying (2 laps) 7:45pm Note: LMS cars MUST be lined up while Drivers Meeting is occurring so that cars are ready to go after the Meeting. Renegades Qualifying (1 lap) to follow LMS. National Anthem 8:05pm performed by Barbed Wire. Green flag drops at 8:10PM Local Heats: (Need at least 10 cars for 2 heats) BM Modifieds 8 laps US Legends 8 laps Mini Stocks 8 laps Front Wheel Drives 8 laps Intermission: LMS/Renegades Inversion/Baseball Toss one lucky race fan will win $100 CASH Main Events: BM Modifieds 15 laps US Legends 20 laps Mini Stocks 20 laps Evergreen Renegades - 20 laps Five Star Late Model Stocks - 50 laps Front Wheel Drives 15 laps Please take note: Next week: Friday, April 6th: FRONT WHEEL DRIVE FRENZY-$500 TO WIN!!! In addition, the following classes will compete: Mini Stocks, US Legends, Evergreen Renegades, Super Renegades and BM Modifieds. For the KIDS: BIG WHEEL RACES 5 lucky kids will be selected to compete on the front stretch. Kids ages 6-9 are eligible. HAPPY EASTER!!! |
